Datrix Re-Invents IT Services Division Through Kaseya Technology
Kaseya technology allows Datrix to transform from an outsourcing IT service provider to a full MSP, with huge cost and efficiency savings
23 Aug. 07: Datrix, the London-based IT business solutions and services provider, has recently partnered with Kaseya, the global provider of IT Managed Service Automation software. Kaseya software enables Datrix to proactively monitor and manage its customers’ systems and become a Managed Service Provider (MSP). Datrix is now able to offer a fixed price monitoring and prevention service, rather than relying exclusively on the traditional break/fix IT support services.
Datrix has been providing server and network solutions and support since 1994. It focuses on network and server management, consultancy services and hardware and software support. The company manages over 400 servers, which in turn cover around 2500 desktops, for its customers in various industry sectors including media, financial and the public sectors.
Datrix previously operated simply as an outsourced IT service provider, dispatching engineers when problems could not be solved over the telephone. Cross London travel takes time, and even the most urgent call-out requests could take an hour or more to respond to. With Kaseya, Datrix can now remotely manage their customers’ servers and systems and perform basic maintenance and updates. Most importantly, Datrix can also pre-empt system failures through constant management, in most cases negating the need for engineer site visits.
Mahmood Chaudhri, Managing Director of Datrix, says, “Previously, as an outsourcer, we would send engineers to our customers’ premises to solve comparatively basic issues. Although in these cases they were on site for only around an hour, the total travel to and from the site often took an additional two hours, which was a cost we have now eliminated.”
Chaudhri continues, “This issue also meant that our potential client base was severely limited by geography. We simply could not justify having outsourcing clients located outside of our local area. Now that we are able to operate remotely, and send engineers only when there are serious problems – something that is less and less likely now that we can anticipate and prevent issues – we are able to provide our IT support services to customers across London.”
