Advance planning vital for companies of all sizes

An expert has confirmed that advance planning is a necessary part of any company's operations, according to Managers.org.uk.
John Sharp, a managing director and leader in business continuity, has claimed that whatever size a business is, it should be constantly forward planning in order to protect itself from any disasters.
Business continuity is something often pushed aside by companies, as Sharp claimed firms often think: "IF the crisis hasn't happened yet, it's not urgent enough to plan for."
This is a common mistake, as the expert added that by forward planning and preparing for any possible crisis, companies could recover quickly and stop the situation becoming a true disaster.
One important element companies have to consider in business continuity is their IT infrastructure; as Sharp said "losing your contacts" or important data is something every company could do without.
Firms who have taken Sharp's advice to heart should consider investing in automated IT systems management; which should help ensure the infrastructure is secure, continually up-to-date and reliable. This is something that would really help companies in times of crisis.
Furthermore, companies who have taken the initiative to implement a business continuity policy should consider the four Ps, Sharp said: "People, processes, premises and providers."
He was not the only one praising the benefits of good business continuity; with Talking Business Continuity arguing: "If you are in in a very competitive sector...then it is surely something to think about earlier rather than later."
