The US military has become the latest victim of an online hack which saw thousands of email addresses and passwords stolen and then released.
An arm of hacker group Anonymous have claimed responsibility for the attacks, which saw the details of over 90,000 email accounts taken from US defence consulting firm Booz Allen Hamilton.
The newest hack proves that it is not only big businesses that need to ensure their IT system management is up to scratch but also countless other organisations in the public eye, regardless of their role.
Anonymous have recently been in exile following a high-profile Government assault to try and out some of its members. In the wake of this, fellow hackers Lulzsec took the mantle. However, with Lulzsec now in retreat, Antisec, a spoke of Anonymous thought to be made up of ex-Lulzsec members, has come to the fore, with a high-profile and hugely symbolic attack.
In a statement released on file-sharing website The Pirate Bay, Antisec claimed: "So in this line of work you'd expect them to sail the seven proxseas with a state-of-the-art battleship, right?
"Well, you may be as surprised as we were when we found their vessel being a puny wooden barge. We infiltrated a server in their network which basically had no security measures in place."
Booz Allen Hamilton, however, refused to comment, telling the Wall Street Journal: "We generally do not comment on specific threats or actions taken against our systems."
