Investment in network management software crucial

An investment in network management solutions is crucial for companies, as one expert has pointed out that the internet poses more security risks than it did 10 or 15 years ago.
According to Nir Zuk, a chief technology officer and industry insider, the internet poses the greatest challenge to technology teams within organisations throughout the UK and world.
He told BBC News that because the internet has changed a lot over the past decade, it now poses a whole host of different risks. Zuk confirmed: "Nowadays, the internet is very, very different than it was in the mid-90s."
"There was no Facebook, no WebEx, no Twitter. They didn't care about Facebook, they didn't care about Twitter... However now that more and more businesses are seeing the value in these things, they have a big dilemma."
The dilemma in question is whether or not to allow these sites to be accessed through their corporate network, particularly as many security solutions cannot protect the network against threats from them.
However the expert claimed that if companies blocked these sites, they were "potentially holding their business back," and "losing some competitive edge compared to their peers."
Zuk's comments have re-reinforced the need to have strong, robust network management software in place; as combined with anti-virus and malware solutions, it should really protect systems as much as is humanely possible.
Zuk wasn't the only one to comment on the dilemmas faced by companies; as Network World warned that even if companies do everything to protect their own networks, threats could also be posed by "customers" and "business partners" - making it all the more important that companies stay on guard against data threats.
