Commercial experts in the north west of England are aiming to spur on economic growth in the region by launching an advisory service for businesses.

The Manchester Evening News noted that the Greater Manchester Business Growth Hub is due to be launched at an event at Manchester City's Etihad stadium in November and is set to offer firms a range of services.

Organisations accessing the phone line or website will be able to see how their operations could be improved by relevant business strategies, networking and specialist technological innovations, such as automated IT software.

"It will act as the focal point for businesses that wish to grow, providing co-ordinated and cohesive growth programmes, business networks, growth groups and links to specialist information, advice and services," a report due to be shown to Greater Manchester Local Enterprise explained.

According to inspiresme.co.uk, the new service could be set to benefit up to 75,000 businesses in the region, while similar support hubs are being planned in other areas such as Merseyside and Cumbria.

The online news provider noted that a host of organisations will be involved with providing commercial growth advice in Greater Manchester, including the Manufacturing Advisory Service and Manchester Chamber of Commerce.

Both the public and private sector are set to be targeted by the project, which was formed following discussions by the North West Regional Leaders Board.
