Police vs Lulzsec war takes a new twist

Despite a high profile arrest of the man thought to be at the head of 'hacktivist' group Lulzsec, reports are emerging that the police may have the wrong man.
Police in the Shetland Islands reported on Wednesday how they had tracked down and caught the elusive 'Topiary', thought to be the unofficial head and spokesperson of the hacker group.
However, the game of cat and mouse took another turn after it was claimed that the Police may have been duped and that the detained man is not the vigilante leader after all but instead just a patsy, myce.com reports. If the claims are true, the real Topiary is still on the loose, managing once again to evade capture.
If the reports are true and Police did indeed arrest the wrong man, then businesses may have implement network management software and keep tabs on their security for fear of intrusions.
In a conversation printed by The New York Times that dates back months, Topiary made reference to him stealing the online identity of another user and turning this to his advantage. This first user then becomes known as a "troll" in internet jargon, meaning that the trackers will trace him and not the person they are really after.
In the conversation, 'Topiary' claims: "As you know, I stole this nickname from a troll last December... I'll keep denying it until they try to go after the troll.
"If I deny my real dox [identity] enough, people will go looking for the other dox then nobody will believe I'm me."
As yet no official word has been given by Metropolitan Police on the newest allegations.
