The systems management industry has experienced a meteoric rise in the market, following decent growth figures from last year.
Computer Business Review cited figures from the International Data Corporation (IDC), which stated the systems management software market experienced "year-over-year revenue growth of 8.3 per cent in the second half of 2010."
For the full year, worldwide revenues were up 7.9 per cent. According to the IDC's Worldwide Semi-annual System Management Software Tracker, this signals a gain of over $1 billion over the 12 month period.
World leaders like the USA, Japan, France, Canada and Australia were responsible for the biggest increases in growth, which is forecast to continue performing "at above average growth in 2011 at 8.7 per cent."
Two other markets - problem management and workload scheduling & automation - are expected to experience growth in 2011.
Tim Grieser, a systems management expert, cited the continuing economic growth as the reason for the market increase; stating that economic recovery stimulated "IT spending, hardware refresh and upgrade cycles, and new investments in managing virtualised and cloud infrastructures."
Grieser added on bradenton.com: "With virtualisation and cloud development among the top priorities for most enterprises, IDC expects the systems management software market will continue to experience strong demand."
